IEEE COMSOC Lahore Chapter in collaboration with Department of Computer Science & Information Technology, The University of Lahore organized the International Conference on Advancements in Computational Sciences (ICACS’18) on 19-21 February, 2018. Aim of the conference was to bring together researchers, scientists and educationists to discuss the emerging trends in the domain of computer sciences. The conference had six major tracks including Human Computer Interaction, Software Engineering, Multimedia & Graphics, Data Science & Knowledge Systems, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, and Networks & Communication Technologies.

First two days of conference comprised six keynote speeches and eight parallel sessions of research paper presentations. Prof. Dr. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni (Sorbonne University, France), Prof. Dr. Yasar Ayaz (National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan), Prof. Dr. M.R. Mousavi (University of Leicester, UK), Prof. Dr.ir. J.F. Groote (Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands), Prof. Dr. Ashiq Anjum (University of Derby, UK) and Dr. Mark Hoogendoorn (Vrije University, The Netherlands) were the keynote speakers. They presented latest research and open questions in the emerging topics like Agent Based Computing, Robotics, Testing of Cyber-Physical Systems, Model Based Software Engineering, Blockchain Technology and Machine Learning in Health Domain.

The third day of conference was reserved for tutorials. Dr. Suleman Shahid (LUMS), Dr. Waqar ul Qounain Jaffry (PUCIT), Dr. Adnan Abid (UMT), and Mr. Zain Asif (CybexTech) conducted hand-on training sessions in state-of-the-art technologies
